Your easy to read and understand cancellation policy

We do not like small print so we have really tried to keep these as easy as possible, balancing the need for us to book out and reserve expensive boats with skippers and not have last minuet unreasonable cancellations

We separate our booking terms into two categories, Training courses and Boating trips.

Boating Trips

We understand in Barcelona no one really wants to go out in rain or when the sea state is too large for a boat trip, so we will give a 90% refund for any trips where the weather conditions are not suitable. The 10% is to cover costs incurred in your booking and then the refund. Please remember if you are paying in a different currency when we refund the exchange rates might be different, you could get more or less back but that is out of our control. We will refund the Euro amount minus 10%. All card payments then our payment gateway will refund straight back to your card.

Change of plans – You may cancel your place on a scheduled trip only 24 hours prior to the trip, anything within 24 hours and then you will loose your payment. Cancellation must be emailed, Whatsapp or called to us

Change the timings – If we can fit you into another scheduled trip then we can offer this service unto 12 hours prior to your trip without any penalty

We need to change the trip – If we cannot offer the trip you booked then we will either offer an alternative boat or alternative time. If nothing can be agreed with a new timing or boat then we will also offer a full refund.

It is a little cloudy – Sorry but that will not stop us going out, so this does not could as unsuitable weather conditions

Training Courses

We have limited numbers on all our training courses so when you book a place we have to take a 25% deposit and within a month the full amount. These courses are very costly to run so we cannot be very generous with last minute cancellation. Buying a training course by credit card normally gives you some form of travel insurance to help if you where taken ill and could not make the course

Alterations to Bookings

If, after your deposit has been received, you wish to change your course/event in any way, we will do what we reasonably can to accommodate such changes, but it may not always be possible. If you or any member of your party is unable to proceed with the course/event, you can transfer the booking to a substitute person, provided that they satisfy all the conditions applicable to the original booking and your request is received by us at least 14 days prior to commencement of the course/event.

Cancellation Charges 

You may cancel your course at any time with Written notification, Cancellation will only be accepted on payment of the cancellation charges as set out below:

• 4 plus weeks before course – 10% of course fee

• 2 to 4 weeks before course/event – 25% of course fee

• Less than 2 weeks before course/event – 100% of price of course

Postponement by us due to bad weather 

On some occasions courses may need to be postponed due to bad weather. In these circumstances we will offer you alternative dates, no refund will be available. If you are unable or unwilling to accept these new dates then we will refund you the full cost of the the course less 10%.

Safety & circumstances beyond our control

As your safety is our first concern, a course/event may be cancelled or re-scheduled or curtailed by us in weather conditions which may in our view make the course/event dangerous or unsafe or due to circumstances beyond our control (including staff illness). We may also cancel;, postpone or re-schedule a course/event where there are not enough people booked on the course/ event to make it viable. In appropriate circumstances the course/event type and / or itinerary may be altered as necessary. Please contact us if in any doubt as to whether a course/event can take place. As with other activity-based experiences, water sports activities contain an element of risk. It must be understood that your participation in these activities is your decision and at your risk. The course/event leader and duty manager have primary responsibility for the safety of the crew guests and craft at all times and his/her decision is final. If any member of your party commits an illegal or potentially dangerous act including carrying or taking of drugs during or before a course/event, is under the influence of alcohol, persistently disregards the instructions of the course/ event leader or duty manager, or is disruptive or exhibits difficult behaviour, the course/event leader and duty manager reserve the right to terminate such persons’ participation in the course/event with no responsibility to them. In such an event there will be no right to any refund and we reserve the right to make a claim for costs and losses incurred.

Photo & video usage

We frequently take photos and video of customers, both adults and under 16’s. We reserve the right to use these in our brochures, social media and in any other promotional material. If you wish to opt out please email

Damage by customers 

Should damage or loss to vessels, persons or equipment be caused as a result of wilful damage or gross negligence by a customers, a customer under the influence of alcohol or drugs or as a result of refusal or failure to obey instructions given by our staff, then he or she will be liable for the full amount of repair or replacement and any resulting costs. The course/event leader reserves the right to terminate the course/event. Adults will at all times be responsible for minors in their charge. Our vessels and crew are fully insured. Our policy provides full cover for the equipment and vessels and third party liability cover for your course/event leader and crew. However we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to any person caused other than through our negligence or breach of contract or for damage to your property howsoever caused and we recommend that you take out appropriate insurance cover yourselves for such uninsured losses.


At each centre we have a Duty Manager who is always available to deal with any issues arising from your activity, it is essential you raise any issues during your course/activity so they can be dealt with immediately. Both company directors are also available to help ensure your experience with Barcelona Watersports is a positive one.
